M A R S H A L L A R T S is a dynamic arts publishing company dedicated to presenting innovative art to a broader audience. Their goal is to showcase and promote underrepresented artists, both past and present, who have made important contributions to the development of Americas artistic culture. My initial work with Marshall Arts was brought about February 1996, when America Online sponsored online information for Black History Month. The proverbial food chain in the web universe goes something like this: AOL contacted NetNoir, an African-American online community; NetNoir contacted Marshall Arts, an art publishing company that sells reproductions of African-American art from the Harlem Renaissance period; Marshall Arts contacted me. Working together with the folks at Marshall Arts, we assembled and structured information on the subject of the Harlem Renaissance. This information was then forwarded to NetNoir who in turn prepared materials for AOL. The results were used for Black History Month during February 1996, 1997, and 1998. Marshall Arts also wanted to develop their own web site that I designed and constructed. | ![]() web design & construction Steven P. Perkins ![]() web design & construction Steven P. Perkins | |||
